The apartments are large and spacious....that will be the end of my compliments regarding Belmere. The apartments are older (1980's) and the lack of maintenance becomes very apparent quickly, though they do a pretty good job of patching it up enough to sell you on it. When you move in you will begin to notice the lack of cleaning and shoddy maintenance.Parking is horrible unless you opt for a reserved parking space for $20.00 a month extra. In front of the 12 unit building I am in there are 11 spaces, two of which are NOT reserved. If you are offered an apartment on the north side (Bearss Ave) don't take it, the noise coming from traffic on Bearss Ave is incredibly loud. The staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional and disorganized. In the 6 months I have been here I have been left nasty messages on my phone machine demanding that I pay my overdue balance immediately, only to find that they made accounting errors and that I actually owed nothing (This happened on three separate and unrelated occasions in a 6 month period). The staff has a very bad habit of leaving notice to enter the apartment for varying reasons with only 24 hours or less notice.Getting things repaired is an ordeal. The cement slab of my porch (second floor) cracked and became unstable to the point that it moved and wobbled when walked on. I asked that they send someone to take care of it. I was surprised at how quickly someone was there to take care of it (next day). the construction crew tore out the slab and surrounding woodwork.....that was the last I would hear from them. After a week I called and asked when I could expect the job to be finished and was told they would send someone over as soon as possible. After another week passed I began to harass them multiple times a day, threatening to bring in a lawyer and the Better Business Bureau if they didn't finish the job. It was completed 5 weeks from the day they tore out the original porch. | | | | |
