Apartment Review for Monticello - Tampa, FL

I have lived at Monticello the past 2 years and it has gotten worse and worse. where do I begin? How about the out of nowhere extra $20 fee you get to pay for "carpet cleaning" when you move out that you had absolutely NO prior notice of? yeah just a little sketchy (they say everyone had to pay it, but my roommate who moved out last week did not have to pay the $20). I paid for the gate to be broken for basically a whole year. Yes there are very nice security guards, but it did take a shooting and multiple robberies for them to up the night staff. I also paid for the gym to be out of service for months, only to have it put into a smaller room with no weightlifting equipment (only free weights). When my roommate first moved in, her bed frame was broken and it took excessively long (and multiple calls to the office) for it to get fixed (and it only got fixed when her mother made a call). Lastly, we got ridiculous overages almost every month and we don't even use the dishwasher and were very conscious about electricity! Something seems to be sketchy there. I understand this is not unusual for college living, but this was a little over the top! I haven't gotten my security deposit back, but i can only imagine what damages they will make up to charge me for. Not worth the money.
