Apartment Review for Phillips International Drive - Tampa, FL

Granted one can only speak on their own experiences, so I will leave certain details about what these people do, or don't do. But trust me when I say that I am on my way out of here as a few others are as well and some people are talking legal action for some other things and think they are walking a thin line with what pertains to this review. The management here thinks people are IDIOTS. Most recently they sent out a memo stating that they were changing out locks to some new security locks that cannot be opened from the outside. This was to take the week so they could do this to all buildings. At the end of the week, when everyone had gotten their new keys we get an email stating that the work had been done, however the security locks could not be added due to a building code. In other words- they lost the master keys or someone who wasn't supposed to get access to the master keys did and they had to do damage control, make up some bullshit story about the locks and rekeyed all our locks. I do not work in the law, but something tells me there is something not ok with this and people have the right to know about their security. PEOPLE SLEPT IN THIER HOMES FOR DAYS WITH SOMEONE ELSE HAVING ACCESS TO THEIR APARTMENT!!!! The side doors to this property remain UNLOCKED and anyone can follow you into the gate. Don't get me started on the parking garage. This goes back to MANAGING. This is a new property and the more people that move in, they have yet to offer parking passes to people that PAY to live here. The garage is a nightmare. you are LUCKY if you can park within 2 levels of your home. You are sharing parking spaces with people who DONT EVEN LIVE THERE and HUGE TRUCKS THAT STICK OUT IN THE WAY CAUSING A HAZARD!!! Since the SPEED BUMPS, everyone on the upper floors just park on the lower levels and take the stairs or elevators. As much as they charge in rent, to move in and other fees once you move in, they should not be so careless or shadey. These people are USELESS!!!! I have left messages with the leasing staff to ask about this lock issue and no calls back. the common answer is "i don't know" by the leasing staff or "nicole is with someone" NICOLE IS ALWAYS WITH SOMEONE, but this is code for "her calls are being screened" because she is a COWARD and uses the leasing staff as a buffer! Once you sign the lease they don't MANAGE anything. This is a rental office. If you need to rent, they are there to handle your need. If you need managing once you move in, FORGET ABOUT IT! Just be careful and I strongly suggest getting as short a lease as possible if you HAVE to live at THIS property. Don't be swindled into thinking you have found your long term home like I did just because it's pretty. there is more of a price you are paying more so than the high rent!
